Songkran is the New Year festival in Thailand. It is celebrated from April 14 to 15, 2025. During the festival, people visit temples, clean Buddha statues and bless elders. Families cultivate old customs and come together. Participants take part in water games in which water is poured over friends, neighbors and strangers. This washes away the past year and marks the transition to the new year.

Many people visit temples to make offerings and perform ritual acts. The celebrations take place in villages and towns. The traditions are a celebration of cultural cohesion and community.
