Morschach panoramic circular trail
Morschach has a panoramic trail around the village. Along the way, new insights into nature and the landscape open up in a confined space.
The circular hike starts in the village centre of Morschach and leads along the "Swiss Path" towards Axenstein. Passing the former route of the electric cog railway - once a connection for guests of the grand hotels from Brunnen to Morschach (1905-1969) - you reach the viewing terrace on the Axenstein. After enjoying the view of Lake Lucerne, the route continues past the golf course to the restaurant, which is open to the public. Shortly before Schwyzerhöchi, a druid stone, a granite boulder from the last ice age, catches the eye on the left.
From the Schwyzerhöchi, the trail follows to the Rüti holiday farm, from where the Schwyz valley basin and the Mythenstock can be seen. Via the car park of the Morschach-Stoos cable car and past Nägelisgärtli, you reach the highest point of the approximately two-hour tour. A narrow forest path then leads towards Dägenbalm.
On the way back, the steep Dägenbalm road offers a direct route to Morschach. Alternatively, a detour to the Lourdes Grotto is worthwhile - a place for a short break. Additional paths can be explored in and around the village to extend the hike.
